Who is this kid??

MustyYew (me) is an amatuer artist, designer and video editor based in the Unlimited Kool (UK). I mainly created this site as a hub space of sorts for all of my promenent creations online, as well as general factoids about me as a person.

i have no idea what else to put in this section uuuhhhhh blueberry muffins are yummyy

MY PLANS FOR THIS WEBSITE:

  • - Giant portfolio with all of my "professional" artworks. Including dedicated sections for my video catalogue maybe
  • - MASSIVE visual upgrade (this page looks ugly as hell like just look at it ew), including more animated GIFs n stuff
  • - More links at the bottom of the page maybe
  • - Credits page for resources & inspiration
  • - Some sorta blog section (similar to Stupied's page) + a page view counter once i figure out how to do those
  • -
  • skibidi toiler

‎ >What's in the name?

MustyYew (ˈmʌsti-ju'), preferably shortened as Musty or Mustyy. Wish I had a way cooler backstory to be honest, but it came from a randomly-generated XBOX account my sibling owned when we were very young("MustyYew011937"). I basically just stole the name for myself because it sounded cool, starting with my YouTube channel before branching out the alias to other platforms I'd soon use (eventually dropping the numbers of course). And so, the rest is history...

‎ >What do you like to draw?

Mainly fan-art of pre-existing characters, though I do have a handful of my own OCs that I doodle from time to time (a lot of which you can view on my artfight page wink wink nudge nudge). I also just like doodling random backgrounds, shapes, words, symbols and objects of the like whenever I'm bored.

‎ >How long have you been into art?

Basically as long as I can remember (REAL original I'm aware). I'd start coming up with my own characters and ideas since I was around 8 years old, but would only begin to take my artistic potential seriously around the tail end of 2019 ("taking art seriously" doesn't necessarily mean I got good at it though, keep that in mind) - even then I'd still just grab some paper and doodle random stuff about whatever 3-4 interests I had at the time (Minecraft YouTubers, BFDI, memes, look I was 13 okay).
The big ol' quarantine of 2020 obviously gave me a lot of time to expand my artistic technicality, as well as my taste in media and arts in general (see the "Interests" tab below).

‎ >How is your art made?

My art is created through the contemporarily complex digital art sortware of Microsoft Paint (circa Windows 10), with such revolutionary equipment as a singular computer and optical mouse. Other software I use include PowerPoint, MedibangPaint and Paint.NET, the latter typically used for photo adjustments and sketchwork.

‎ >What inspires your art?

A lot of it is just drawn (haha) from media I like or grew up with; TV shows, web series, adverts, books, games etc, I couldn't pinpoint one specific thing. For the most part I'm also self-taught, so a lot of my abilities were formed from looking at others' work and critiques.

‎ >Where can I find your art?

I'm currently working on a giant portfolio with all the “professional” works I've ever published online. But at the moment, I'm mainly active on Reddit, Twitter and somewhat Newgrounds (featured below via Linktree). Don't expect any consistency with the rate I put stuff out though.

‎ >Do you take art commissions?

Nah. I've done art requests in the past, both free and in monitary exchange, but as far as full-on commissions go I don't have any set plans.
